18. 4. After removal of the solvents, the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography to afford the disaccharides as two diastereomers.

The catalyst was filtered off and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The residue was dissolved in water (5 mL) and freeze dried to afford the deprotected aminoglycoside.
