    • In the case of four layers of gold nanoclusters, the ferrocene peak potential was determined by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). Please see the Supporting Information for details. Also, in a dropcast thick film (∼μm) of the same ω-ferrocenated nanoparticles, the formal potential of the ferrocene moieties was found at an even more positive position, +0.45 V.
