34. We consider situations where the nanotube is well contacted by the electrode and applying the wide bandlimit by fixing (formula presented) to make the device transparent in the absence of gate voltage.
35. We have checked that there is no significant change in physics when the gate voltage (formula presented) is reduced from 2.7 V to 1.3 V within our model.
36. There are two transmission channels for the (5,5) metallic nanotube at the Fermi energy.
37. When the system is asymmetric, one of the resonant levels has very large injectivity (formula presented) while the other level (not shown in Fig. 22) it is very small.
