15. Several experiments were performed in attempt to promote dimerization (increasing the concentration of 5 from 10 to 75 mM, lowering the temperature from 303 to 275 K, and addition of 1.0 M NaCl). None of these experiments resulted in dimer formation, as evidenced by the absence of NOEs between the tyrosine and lysine α-protons and the lack of significant changes in the chemical shifts of the α-protons.
