    • We note that a spectroscopic detection of an iron-oxo in P450 probably will not provide such an unequivocal demonstration. Recent studies of microperoxidase oxidations indicate that hydroxylic solvent can react with an iron-oxo species, the reverse of formation of an iron-oxo from an iron-hydrogen peroxide complex, on the time scale of oxidation reactions. See ref 49.
