59. 2 (6.70 mg, 0.03 mmol), and imidazolium chloride 2 (26 mg, 0.06 mmol) in THF (12 mL) is refluxed under Ar for 6 h. For workup, the reaction mixture is filtered through a short pad of silica, the filtrate is evaporated, and the residue is purified by flash chromatography (silica, ca. 10 cm, ∅ 2 cm, hexane/EtOAc, 10/1 → 4/1) to give 4-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolane-2-yl)benzoic acid methyl ester (222 mg, 85%) as a colorless solid. The analytical and spectroscopic data are in full agreement with those previously reported, cf. ref 5a.
