Interfacial Electrochem. 1983, 146, 417-421 10.1016/S0022-0728(83)80601-9.. It has been reported that CV data do not always supply the exact amount of electroactive molecules on the electrode surface because charge transport in the polymer occurs together with ion-transport passing through the layer and movement of the polymer itself. However, the observation in the CV experiments of the poly-Ru/NiO shows clear increase of the amount of Ru on the electrode surface by the polymerization process. Additionally, the total amount of the adsorbed RuVP on the NiO electrode, which was determined by the UV-vis absorption measurement, and the adsorbed RuReV in the poly-RuRe/NiO electrode, which was measured by both the ICP and the UV-vis absorption measurements, was about 46 nmol. Similarity of this value to that of the active Ru units in the poly-RuRe/NiO electrode (49 nmol), which was obtained by the CV measurement, suggests that considerable portion of the adsorbed Ru units in the poly-RuRe/NiO electrode was electrochemically active.
