Am J Physiol Lung Cell Mol Physiol 2014;307:L668-L680. Neutrophil extracellular traps are pathogenic in primary graft dysfunction after lung transplantation

Sayah DM, Mallavia B, Liu F, et al. Neutrophil extracellular traps are pathogenic in primary graft dysfunction after lung transplantation. Am J Respir Crit Care Med 2015;191:455-463. These data are the first description of a pathogenic role for neutrophil extracellular traps in solid organ transplantation and suggest that neutrophil extracellular traps are a promising therapeutic target in primary graft dysfunction (PGD).
