    • The redox reaction 2H+ + 2e- → H2 cannot be observed using a glassy carbon working electrode, calomel reference electrode, and Pt counter electrode. This reaction was observed when using Pt as working, counter, and reference electrodes at ∼0 V (ref 27), however this is the potential between the working and reference electrodes and does not represent the redox potential of the polyoxometalate, which in this case is the potential between the Pt working and counter electrodes (cathode and anode), ∼1.3 V.
