LOD defined here, in the standard way, from the analytical curve and noise floor at zero target concentration (the concentration of target that will generate a response signal exceeding three times the "noise"). There are no grounds to believe that this is not a practically measureable concentration since, by definition, the signal reproducibly generated by 55 pM target lies substantially higher than noise in this regime of analysis

It is important to note that patient sample response will be that generated by a mixture of polyclonal antibodies of potentially varied binding affinity. Since response calibration was necessarily achieved here with monoclonal antibodies (Fig. 2), we acknowledge that the absolute quantification reported in Fig. 5 and 6 may differ if different monoclonals are used in calibration and these exhibit a different binding affinity
