    • Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2000, 39, 2007-2010. The crystal structure of the parent iodosylbenzene in unknown. In fact, the O-I and C-I bonds in 1-(tert-butylsulfonyl)-2-iodosylbenzene are likely to be peturbed compared to the corresponding distances in free iodosylbenzene owing to strong intramolecular interactions between the sulfonyl group and the iodo oxygen atom. Thus the comparison between I-O and C-I bonds described in the text for 1 would conceivably be more extreme in a comparision to the structure of iodosylbenzene had it been available.
