    • We believe that the present hydrogenations of naphthalenes proceed through molecular catalysis, because a high degree of enantiocontrol was achieved in the asymmetric reaction. However, we cannot completely rule out the possibility that the hydrogenation took place through catalysis by colloidal ruthenium at this time. For information on colloidal ruthenium catalysis, see:, P. J. Dyson, Dalton Trans. 2003, 2964.
