    • We have now been able to monitor the activity of a lipase by following the enhancement of Tb(iii) emission in the cholate gel matrix by choosing a suitable precursor which releases DHN with time by the enzyme action. These results will be published elsewhere We have also attempted to sensitize two other visible light emitting lanthanides, Sm(iii) and Dy(iii) [orange and yellow emitters, respectively], in their cholate gel matrix by doping non-coordinating sensitizers. But we are yet to find suitable sensitizers (as pyrene for Eu and DHN for Tb) for these two lanthanides. The investigations on these two lanthanides are currently in progress
