    • Developmental differences in megakaryocytopoiesis are associated with up-regulated Tpo signaling through mTOR and elevated GATA-1 levels in neonatal megakaryocytes
    • This study demonstrates that human neonatal megakaryocytes are cytoplasmically mature and shows that neonatal megakaryopoiesis is characterized by an uncoupling of proliferation, polyploidization, and cytoplasmic maturation. It also describes the molecular mechanisms underlying this unique pattern, including an upregulation of the mTOR signaling pathway downstream of Tpo and elevated levels of full-length GATA-1 in neonatal compared with adult megakaryocytes
