    • Compounds were assessed for their ability to inhibit ATP-mediated IL-1β production in LPS-stimulated whole blood cultures. Compounds were added to whole blood for 30 min followed by LPS for 3 h. ATP was added and IL-1β concentrations were measured using commercially available ELISA kits. Each compound was tested at least twice and the average values are provided. For this assay, the average coefficient of variance was 37%.
