    • The increase in the width of the NP superstructures with increasing total number of deposited NPs under the same solvent exposure (i.e., Fig. 4d compared to Fig. 4b) suggests that crystalline domain degradation by the solvent may be assisted indirectly by the presence of NPs. We are currently investigating the possibility that the presence of sodium counter-ions accompanying the negatively charged citrate-stabilised gold NPs or the increase in dielectric constant of the solution at higher NP ratios have an effect on the rate of PEG dissolution
