Gallup uses this question, "Thinking about what is said in the news, in your view is the seriousness of global warming generally exaggerated, generally correct, or is it generally underestimated?" In the 2009 poll the percentages of U.S. citizens giving these three responses were 41, 29, and 28 percent respectively, while 2 percent have no opinion. In Gallup, 2009 Gallup Environment Survey (Washington, D.C.: Gallup, 2009). Eurobarometer uses this question, "The seriousness of climate change has been exaggerated? Agree, disagree, don't know." In the 2008 survey the percentages of European citizens giving these three responses were 26, 65, and 9 percent respectively.
