    • We previously reported an extension of the carbodiazenylation reaction towards aliphatic carbon equivalents based on an intermediate radical iodine transfer step see ref.[26c, The series of experiments conducted for the optimization of this reaction cannot be used for the determination of rate constants because of the low solubility of ethyl 2-iodoacetate in mixtures of methanol and hydrochloric acid. The low concentrations of the iodo compounds have the effect that the addition of the aryl radicals to non-activated olefins can successfully compete against the otherwise predominant iodine transfer reaction
