Rampant gene exchange across a strong reproductive barrier between the annual sunflowers, Helianthus annuus and H. petiolaris
-
Ben Fitzpatrick's research interests include the genetics and biogeography of speciation, the importance of local adaptation for both evolution and conservation management, and invasion biology (.). John Placyk studies molecular phylogeography, conservation genetics, and behaviour of reptiles and amphibians. Matt Niemiller focuses on the ecology, population genetics, and phylogeography of herpetofauna and subterranean fauna. Gary Casper is broadly interested in the biogeography, conservation, and monitoring of amphibians and reptiles. Gordon Burghardt is interested in conservation biology in addition to the relationship between genetics and environment in the development of behaviour.
