    • Synthesis of Cl-amidine: N-α-Benzoyl-l-ornithine amide-TFA (247 mg, 0.7 mmol) was dissolved in MeOH (2 mL). Triethyl amine (0.29 mL, 2.1 mmol) and ethyl chloroacetimidate-HCl (221 mg, 1.4 mmol) were added and the mixture stirred overnight. The reaction mixture was quenched with water (5 mL) and acidified with TFA. The product was isolated by RP-HPLC as a white powder. Spectral data were consistent with previous reports.
