Two-component signal transduction pathways in Arabidopsis
-
I. Hwang, H.C. Chen, and J. Sheen Two-component signal transduction pathways in Arabidopsis Plant Physiol 129 2002 500 515 The authors provide an in-depth overview of the His→Asp phosphorelay signaling circuitry, with special reference to cytokinin signal transduction in A. thaliana. They discuss the current consistent mode of the cytokinin-receptor-mediated two-component signal transduction, in which type-A and type-B ARRs are crucially involved.

Type-A Arabidopsis response regulators are partially redundant negative regulators of cytokinin signaling
-
To JPC, G. Haberer, F.J. Ferreira, J. Deruere, M.G. Mason, G.E. Schaller, J.M. Alonso, J.R. Echer, and J.J. Kieber Type-A Arabidopsis response regulators are partially redundant negative regulators of cytokinin signaling Plant Cell 16 2004 658 671 The authors provide solid genetic evidence that certain type-A ARRs are indeed involved in the cytokinin signaling circuitry. They propose that these ARRs act as negative regulators, showing that an arr3 arr4 arr5 arr6 arr8 arr9 hextuple mutant is highly sensitive to cytokinin. Intriguingly, they also found that some arr mutants show altered red-light sensitivity during development.

Targeted degradation of TOC1 by ZTL modulated circadian function in Arabidopsis thaliana
-
P. Mas, W.Y. Kin, D.E. Somers, and S.A. Kay Targeted degradation of TOC1 by ZTL modulated circadian function in Arabidopsis thaliana Nature 426 2003 567 570 The authors describe a protein factor (named ZTL) that specifically interacts with TOC1/APRR1 and promotes the degradation of this clock component in a proteasome-dependent manner. This targeted degradation of the clock component appears to be responsible for the regulation of circadian period.
