    • A rigorous normal mode numbering is not available because (i) the symmetry of the molecule in vacuum can be lowered by the interaction with the surface (ii) the classification of the IR and Raman spectra is performed for the molecule with the hydrogen attached to the sulfur atom (and this alters completely the normal mode numbering). We used here the simplest possible choice (assigning mode numbering based simply on increasing frequency) with the aim of making these results easily comprehensible
