    • As a result of an asymmetric induction exerted by the initiator in the formation of the short oligopeptides, one should anticipate the operation of a kinetic effect that might affect the ee value of the peptides as a function of length. However, since two opposite effects, namely the formation of an excess of the short oligopeptides (which serve as precursors for the long peptides) of the same absolute configuration as the initiator and a simultaneous enrichment of the solution with monomers of opposite handedness, operate in unison, one might anticipate some oscillations in the ee value of the long peptides as a function of length rather than in an increase in magnitude as observed experimentally
