Residue analysis of 500 high priority pesticides: better by GC-MS or LC-MS/MS?
-
Describes a comprehensive comparison between GC-MS and LC-MS/MS as analytical tools for pesticide residue analysis. LC-MS/MS was found to be more universal than GC-MS. It allowed the analysis of a larger number of pesticides, usually with better sensitivity by about two orders of magnitude. The paper also summarizes general advantages of LC-MS/MS over GC-MS for residue analysis.
