The fractions (retention time, 5-6 min), which showed inhibitory activity, were collected and analyzed by LC/MS/MS. The only metabolite detected was the one possessing m/z = 462, which corresponds to glucuronated phenolic metabolite of 11. The metabolite was treated with glucuronidase and then analyzed by HPLC under the same condition as described above. The resulting material (retention time, 11 min) was found to be identical with that of para-phenolic analog 16, which was not detected in the above-described experimental condition.
