    • Leukocyte-targeted myocardial contrast echocardiography can assess the degree of acute allograft rejection in a rat cardiac transplantation model
    • In a rat model of cardiac transplant rejection the authors use leucocyte-targeted myocardial contrast echocardiograhy to assess acute rejection. Molecular imaging of inflammation for the serial assessment of patients with transplants would be an appealing clinical application given the invasiveness and inaccuracy of current biopsy-based follow-up.

Methods for the in vivo noninvasive assessment of angiogenic therapies are much needed in the pre-clinical and clinical field. Likewise, targeted ultrasound can help in further investigating angiogenic signaling pathways.
