    • Excitations are not visible in measurements presented by Kubatkin et al. [6]. It may be that the molecule-lead coupling is important in this respect, because in their work the molecules are coupled to the leads by van der Waals forces; in our case the thiol end groups provide a more robust bonding, thereby improving the stability of the junctions.
