This study generates and characterizes an Ezrin knockout mutation in the mouse. It shows that Ezrin has unique functions in the morphogenesis of the villi and remodeling of the apical membrane and junctional complex in the developing intestine.

In this study the authors demonstrate that Bitesize, a synaptotagmin like protein, functions to stabilize adherens junctions in the early Drosophila embryo via its interactions with Moesin. The results suggest that Moesin regulates the actin cytoskeleton, thereby promoting adherens junction stability.
