note
-
Typical experimental procedure for aryl thiocyanate synthesis: A mixture of aryl iodide (2.0 mmol), KSCN (2.4 mmol), CuI (0.2 mmol), 1,10-phenanthroline (0.4 mmol), and TEAI (0.2 mmol) in 2 mL of DMSO was heated at 100°C under nitrogen atmosphere for 48 h. The resulting suspension was cooled to room temperature and filtered through a 2-3 cm pad of silica gel with 100 ml of EtOAc. The filtrate was concentrated and the residue was purified by chromatography to afford the pure product.
