49. We note that these fluctuations were observed only as the sample transitioned through a monolayer step. After the transition, they would disappear. These disturbances were not caused by insufficient vibration isolation from the laboratory (e.g., due to vibrations in the apparatus) or by inhomogeneous delivery of nitrogen gas, which was used to control the solvent evaporation. These fluctuations are not yet understood and require further investigation.
