A comparison of 263 proteins targeted for both NMR analysis and X-ray crystallography. The authors found no correlation between those proteins that were 'solvable' by NMR versus those that crystallized. The combination of both methods yielded a greater number of structures in total.

    • Comparisons of NMR spectral quality and success in crystallization demonstrate that NMR and X-ray crystallography are complementary methods for small protein structure determination
    • A comparison of 159 proteins targeted for both NMR analysis and X-ray crystallography. The authors found no correlation between those proteins that yielded NMR structures versus those that could be solved by X-ray crystallography. The combination of both methods yielded a greater number of structures in total.
