25. Me. This reaction was repeated in toluene and THF solutions at reflux temperature. Consequently, it was appreciated, that the use of THF afforded cis-4 as an only isolable product, although the yield was moderate low (35%), whereas the reaction in toluene lead to the isomeric mixture. Again, these reactions produced also small amounts of yellow 4′.
