This study reports the protection upon oxidative stress in the central nervous system. NPD1 application upregulates the anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 and Bcl-x(L) in response to NPD1 treatment, whereas the pro-apoptotic Bax and Bad are downregulated resulting in reduced caspase-3 cleavage.
