note
-
Recent results presented at the first International Congress on Ionic Liquids, Salzburg Austria, 2005, clearly illustrated the importance of these electrochemical processes in the long-term uses of the ionic liquids. IILs often became highly coloured due to degradation of the ionic liquid, whereas phosphonium ionic liquids appear to be more robust and do not significantly decompose even in long-term industrial processes.
