54. 3+KI (0.5 mmole, 10 mol%) was added and the resulting mixture was refluxed with stirring for 6 h under nitrogen atmosphere. After completion of reaction (monitored by TLC), the reaction mixture was cooled to RT and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The solid thus obtained was washed with ice-cold water and purified by recrystallization from ethanol to afford 2 in 98% yield.
