Body mass index in relation to adult asthma among 135 000 Norwegian men and women

This is the most comprehensive prospective study of the relationship between obesity and asthma to date, involving 135 000 Norwegian men and women followed for 21 years. In men, the risk of asthma increased steadily with BMI, by 10% with each unit of increased BMI between 25 and 30. The same value for women was 7%.
