    • From the expressions for β given in refs 15, 35, 38, a transfer time results which is shorter by a factor of 0.714 than as calculated by eq 3. This difference originates from the way that the average over the dipole orientations is performed (ref 36). In ref 36 the transfer rates are simultaneously integrated over the orientations and the distance distribution, whereas in ref 35 the rate is first averaged over the orientations and then integrated over the distance distribution. The latter approach leads thereby to a slight underestimation of the transfer time.
