    • Although several papers in the literature have claimed that a higher percentage of Mn has been incorporated, most of these results report only the total amount of Mn present in the colloid and do not provide evidence that the Mn is inside the nanocrystal and not on its surface or within the matrix. A notable exception is ref 22, where the authors provide evidence that 40% of the Mn in the growth solution is incorporated into ZnO nanocrystals to obtain a doping concentration of 0.2%.
