16. From a simple expectation from the band structure calculations, there is no reason for the FD-function divided spectrum to show higher intensity above EF. However, the band structure at D (E) is known to be sensitive to the bond length between Te (2) - Te (3).
17. It has been shown that a slight decrease of the Te (2) - Te (3) bond length, which is known to occur on increasing T [R. Seshadri, J. Mater. Chem. JMACEP 0959-9428 10.1039/a805427d 8, 2869 (1998)], results in the observed trend of pushing the bottom of the band above EF.
