    • One reviewer rightly noticed that the phthalocyanine triplet state is the lowest energy state in the dyads 5 and 6 and therefore could be the final excited state upon light excitation. Knowing that electron injection from the photoexcited ruthenium complex is a very fast process (in the range of 50 ps and even faster; see, for example, Benkö et al. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2002, 124, 489), it could compete efficiently with the process that leads to a phthalocyanine triplet state.
