Melnyk Bioconjugate Chem. 14 2003 430 439 In this article, the stability of α-oxo and benzaldehyde semicarbazones toward hydrolysis was compared. The α-oxo semicarbazone was found to be stable 24 h in HEPES buffer at 65°C and at different pHs (7.1-8.0), whereas 40% of hydrolysis was observed for the benzaldehyde semicarbazone using the same experimental conditions (see Ref. 12)
