Unlike the equilibrium in-plane polarized spin currents mentioned in a recent work by E. Rashba, cond-mat/0311110, the currents which we consider here are polarized perpendicular to the plane and vanish in the zero electric field limit. Hence they arise as a linear response to the perturbation and no other equilibrium current contributions need to be substracted.
