    • Inefficient focusing of hard x rays to atomic dimensions could be achieved, for example, using a focusing mirror reflecting at large angles. Such a mirror would focus the x rays very inefficiently, but could reach numerical apertures up to one. However, Compton scattering would strongly occult this focus.
