7. Plasma levels of the corresponding acyclic acids were not determined. Although acyl glucuronidation of some acids was observed in vivo, this was not the major contributor to the high plasma clearance rates.
8. The α-methyl group in 8 was initially installed to prevent amide hydrolysis, but compounds lacking this steric protection suffered relatively little hydrolysis anyways.
