    • To demonstrate the efficiency of this amination reaction, 1-bromodecane (0.71 g, 3.2 mmol) was added to a solution of lithium 1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisilazane (0.90 g, 6.4 mmol) in THF (10 mL) and dry DMSO (2.5 mL) at 0 °C. The mixture was stirred in ice for 1 h and 20 °C for 3 h. Acidic hydrolysis followed by neutralizaion with aqueous NaOH produced 1-aminodecane with complete conversion.
