Moreover, emission-excitation spectra of solution samples of [Na(L)]1 exhibit the same features as the electronic-absorption spectra, indicating that the emission arises from these chromophores. Nonetheless, the possibility that unidentified decomposition products quench the emissive state of the [Na(L)]1 complexes cannot be excluded; emission lifetimes and quantum yields in solution should be considered to be lower limits.
