3 was treated with crystalline H3PO4 and tri-n-octylamine in tris-2-ethylhexylphosphonate (TEHP) at 160 °C overnight, followed by precipitation with methanol. The resultant nanoparticles have an Fe:P ratio of 0.92 ± 5% (ICP-MS) and are soluble in pyridine, toluene, or hexane.
