    • We have previously introduced anilinium hypophosphite (1) as a convenient alternative to anhydrous hypophosphorous acid in several reactions (see [1]). This hypophosphite salt is crystalline (m.p. 113-114 C) and readily available inexpensively, and can be stored without particular precautions for several months, making it the ideal starting material for the preparation of organophosphorous compounds
