    • Isosteric heat measurements [80] have established that the initial heat of absorption of CO on a Cu(100) surface (15kcal/mol) [80a] is about one-half of that on Ni(100), Ni(110), and Ni(111) surfaces (26-30 kcal/mol) [80b, c]; these measurements are compatible with the CO desorption peak temperature from Cu (T ≤ 220K) being approximately one-half of that from Ni (T = 440 K) [80d].
