    • 2 was estimated by fitting the measured tranmission spectrum to that predicted by a one-dimensional scalar wave calculation. Pore sizes were fixed by microscopy and the effective index of the material was extracted. Though approximate, this simple model captures many of the semi-quantitative features of the optical spectra along high symmetry axes. See [35].
